July 2004 This very special car is #3 of only 25 built by Pontiac Division in '91 (only 8 were built as 1991 models and only 25 '91/'92 Firehawks were made in total; 27 were ordered, with 2 being cancelled) as an experiment to test the muscle car market at that time. This particular car has the 3rd-lowest mileage of any '91/'92 Hawk in existence and was also the very first Firehawk ever built that was 100% fully loaded with all SLP options; it is 1 of only 4 'complete package' 1991 Firehawks (it should be emphasized that the Firehawk package was in fact a "Factory" option designated by RPO code B4U and thus it was not an aftermarket car). Orders fell short of expectations and the program was terminated. These super performance cars were built at the Van Nuys, Calif. Plant and shipped new to "Street Legal Performance" (SLP) in New Jersey where they underwent extensive performance changes, some to custom order. This car is powered by the 5.7 SLP T-Ram tuned port injection engine backed by a 6-speed ZF, GM transmission to an alloy driveshaft (DANA 3" 'low mass' aluminum model) connected to a 3.54 DANA rear end) gear ratio positraction differential. She stops fast via 4-wheel racing disc brakes (only the front brakes are 13" BREMBO's with the rear brakes being factory 13" 1LE disks). Additional changes include a special handling package, aluminum hood, full roll cage and Recaro seats with dual shoulder harness restraints using a single release. She is fully optioned with power steering, 4-wheel disc power brakes, factory air conditioning, stainless steel exhaust system, 17" special design alloy wheels attached to low profile ZR rated radial tires, factory radio with AM/FM/Cassette deck, plus 145 mph speedometer although top speed capability is 175 mph! She starts, idles and seemingly drives like any other similar year make and model Pontiac until you perform large throttle openings and throw her into a turn at high speed, after that... it's all about how good a driver you are! Matched against all the muscle cars of its time nothing could beat her performance figures. It will be among a select few of 90's collectible cars in the future.
